Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Translator to join our remote team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for translating complex technical documentation from German to English, ensuring accuracy, linguistic quality, and adherence to industry-specific terminology and client style guides. This is a full-time, 100% remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your preferred location within Austria. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional linguistic skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Translate highly technical documents from German into English, maintaining accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
• Perform comprehensive quality assurance (QA) on translated materials to ensure linguistic and technical correctness.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical writers, and subject matter experts to clarify content and terminology.
• Manage terminology databases and translation memories (TMs) to ensure consistent use of approved terms.
• Adhere to client-specific style guides, glossaries, and quality standards.
• Utilize CAT tools (e.g., Trados Studio, memoQ) efficiently to maximize productivity and maintain consistency.
• Provide constructive feedback and participate in peer reviews to uphold translation quality.
• Continuously update knowledge of industry-specific terminology and technical advancements.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Native-level fluency in English (target language).
• Professional working proficiency in German (source language).
• Proven experience as a technical translator, specializing in areas such as engineering, IT, automotive, or life sciences.
• Expertise in using CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools, specifically SDL Trados Studio.
• Strong understanding of technical concepts and terminology.
• Excellent research skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Certification from a recognized translation association (e.g., ATA, ITI, BDÜ).
• Experience with other CAT tools like memoQ or Wordfast.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) or documentation tools.
