Are you a motivated student with a passion for data and environmental science, particularly forestry? SilvaTech Solutions GmbH is seeking a dedicated Working Student to join our dynamic team in Gießen. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in data management, analysis, and visualization within the forestry sector. You will contribute to projects focused on forest inventory, growth modeling, and carbon sequestration, utilizing advanced software and methodologies. Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist in the collection, cleaning, and organization of forestry-related datasets (e.g., satellite imagery, drone data, ground measurements).
• Perform basic data analysis and generate reports using statistical software or scripting languages (e.g., R, Python).
• Support the development and maintenance of geospatial databases (GIS) for forest mapping and monitoring projects.
• Contribute to the creation of data visualizations and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide general support to the data science and forestry teams, including research tasks and documentation.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across various projects.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Forestry, Environmental Science, Geospatial Technologies, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken) – German language skills are NOT required.
• Basic understanding of data management principles and database concepts.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A genuine interest in forestry, ecology, or environmental sustainability.

• Prior experience with GIS software (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS).
