Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a talented and motivated Hybrid Epidemiology Data Scientist to join our Public Health division in St. Pölten. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply advanced data science techniques to real-world epidemiological challenges, contributing directly to public health outcomes in Austria. You will work within a dynamic team, leveraging large datasets to identify disease trends, evaluate interventions, and inform public health strategies. The position requires a strong background in both epidemiology and data analysis, with a passion for using data to drive impactful health decisions.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design and implement epidemiological studies, from data collection to analysis and reporting.
• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines for public health surveillance data.
• Apply advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze complex epidemiological datasets.
• Identify and interpret disease patterns, risk factors, and health outcomes.
• Create interactive dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with public health experts, policymakers, and other scientists to translate data insights into actionable recommendations.
• Contribute to scientific publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and adherence to privacy regulations.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proficiency in statistical programming languages (R or Python)
• Strong understanding of epidemiological principles and study designs
• Experience with large-scale data manipulation and analysis
• Familiarity with database management (SQL)
• Ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly to diverse audiences
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Fluent in English and German (for collaboration with local teams and data sources)

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Master's or PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Data Science, Public Health, or a related quantitative field
• Experience with GIS software for spatial data analysis
• Knowledge of public health surveillance systems
