We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Hybrid Offshore Wind Structural Engineer to join our innovative Marine Energy team in Rümlang, Zurich. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the structural design, analysis, and optimization of offshore wind turbine foundations, substructures, and other marine energy assets. This position requires a deep understanding of marine structural engineering principles, coupled with practical experience in offshore wind projects. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with naval architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to deliver cutting-edge solutions for the rapidly evolving offshore wind sector.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Perform detailed structural analysis and design of offshore wind turbine foundations (e.g., monopiles, jackets, floating foundations) using finite element analysis (FEA) software.
• Develop and review structural specifications, design reports, and technical documentation in accordance with international standards (e.g., DNV, IEC, API).
• Conduct fatigue, ultimate, and serviceability limit state checks for offshore structures under various environmental loads (wind, wave, current, seismic).
• Collaborate with geotechnical engineers on foundation-soil interaction modeling and design.
• Support the development of innovative structural concepts and solutions to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the constructability of offshore wind projects.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and technical meetings with clients, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers within the team.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations in offshore wind and marine structural engineering.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in structural design and analysis of offshore structures, with a focus on offshore wind.
• Proficiency in advanced FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, Sesam, SACS).
• Strong understanding of offshore structural dynamics, hydrodynamics, and wave mechanics.
• Experience with relevant international codes and standards (DNV, IEC, API, Eurocode).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.
• Experience with floating offshore wind structures.
• Knowledge of marine operations, installation methods, and logistics for offshore wind projects.
• Familiarity with programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for automation and data analysis.
• Proficiency in German is a plus.
