We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our vibrant team at the Medical University of Vienna. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge medical research in an English-speaking environment. The successful candidate will support various research projects, perform laboratory experiments, assist with data collection and analysis, and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Execute laboratory experiments following established protocols, including molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, Western blot), cell culture, and microscopy.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and media accurately and efficiently.
• Collect, organize, and meticulously record experimental data, ensuring data integrity.
• Perform preliminary data analysis using statistical software and present findings clearly.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality, and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Order and manage laboratory supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
• Assist in the preparation of research reports, presentations, and publications.
• Adhere strictly to safety regulations and laboratory best practices.
• Participate in lab meetings and contribute to scientific discussions.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific field.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English (working language of the lab).
• Demonstrated practical laboratory experience (academic projects or prior work).
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of data analysis software (e.g., Excel, GraphPad Prism).

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in a relevant scientific discipline.
• Prior experience with specific techniques such as cell culture, flow cytometry, or animal handling.
• Familiarity with scientific literature databases and reference management software.
