Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Sailmaker to join our marine service team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and fabrication of sails, canvas covers, and marine upholstery for a diverse range of yachts and boats. This position requires a keen eye for detail, proficiency with industrial sewing equipment, and a solid understanding of marine fabrics and construction techniques. Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair damaged sails, including tears, seam failures, and hardware replacement.
• Fabricate new sails, boat covers, biminis, dodgers, and other canvas products to precise specifications.
• Perform marine upholstery work, including cushion repair and custom installations.
• Operate and maintain industrial sewing machines and other specialized sailmaking equipment.
• Consult with clients to understand their needs, provide expert advice, and ensure satisfaction.
• Accurately measure, cut, and pattern various marine fabrics.
• Manage workflow efficiently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience in sailmaking, canvas work, or marine upholstery.
• Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and other relevant tools.
• Strong knowledge of sail design, construction, and repair techniques.
• Familiarity with various marine fabrics (e.g., Dacron, Mylar, laminated fabrics, canvas).
• Excellent attention to detail and precision craftsmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical dexterity and ability to handle large materials.
• Basic computer skills for order management and communication.
• Fluency in German for client communication.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Formal training or apprenticeship in sailmaking or textile fabrication.
• Experience with CAD software for sail design or patterning.
• Knowledge of rigging and mast systems.
• Personal boating or sailing experience.
• Ability to speak English is a plus.
