Join Siemens AG as a Hybrid Subsea Cable Routing Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in the planning, design, and optimization of subsea cable routes for critical telecommunications and power infrastructure projects. This role requires an expert understanding of marine geology, hydrography, environmental regulations, and cable installation techniques. You will work within a dynamic, international team, primarily communicating in English, and contribute to projects that connect continents and power the future. This hybrid position offers the flexibility of both office collaboration and remote work, ensuring you have the best environment to perform your specialized tasks.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Conduct detailed desktop studies and route planning for subsea cable systems, considering geological, oceanographic, and environmental factors.
• Evaluate survey data (bathymetric, geophysical, geotechnical) to identify optimal cable routes and potential hazards.
• Collaborate with marine surveyors, environmental consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with international and local standards.
• Prepare comprehensive routing reports, charts, and technical specifications for tender documents and project execution.
• Participate in risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for cable installation and maintenance.
• Provide expert advice and support during all project phases, from feasibility to post-installation.
• Utilize GIS and specialized routing software for accurate data analysis and visualization.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional and international teams, primarily in English.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Minimum 5 years of experience in subsea cable routing or marine geomatics.
• Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and specialized cable routing tools.
• Strong understanding of marine geophysics, geology, and oceanography.
• Knowledge of international subsea cable industry standards and regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Fluency in English, both written and verbal, as the primary working language.
• Ability to interpret complex technical data and survey reports.
• Experience with project management principles in an engineering context.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Marine Science, Ocean Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Experience with offshore renewable energy projects or oil and gas infrastructure.
• Familiarity with various cable protection and burial assessment techniques.
• Professional certification in GIS or project management.
• Knowledge of German is a plus, but not required.
