Stellenbeschreibung
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hybrid Geothermal Drilling Engineer to join our innovative team focused on energy extraction. This role involves the design, planning, and execution of geothermal drilling projects, integrating advanced drilling techniques with a strong emphasis on safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding OMV’s renewable energy portfolio and contribute to groundbreaking projects in geothermal energy.
Hauptverantwortlichkeiten
- Develop and optimize drilling programs for geothermal wells, considering geological conditions, well integrity, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee and monitor drilling operations on-site and remotely, ensuring adherence to design specifications, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct detailed analysis of drilling performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including geologists, reservoir engineers, and project managers to achieve project objectives.
- Select and manage drilling equipment, materials, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and operational reliability.
- Evaluate and integrate new drilling technologies and best practices into geothermal projects.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and documentation throughout all project phases.
- Ensure all drilling activities comply with internal HSE standards and external environmental regulations.
Erforderliche Fähigkeiten
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in drilling operations, with exposure to geothermal or high-temperature well environments.
- Strong understanding of drilling mechanics, well design principles, and completion technologies.
- Proficiency in drilling engineering software (e.g., WellPlan, StressCheck, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented and multicultural environment.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal).
Bevorzugte Qualifikationen
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Direct experience in geothermal drilling projects, including deep drilling or complex well architecture.
- Knowledge of advanced drilling technologies such as managed pressure drilling (MPD) or coiled tubing drilling.
- Project management certification or proven experience managing drilling projects.
- Proficiency in German.
