We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Hybrid Metaverse Architecture Lead to join our pioneering team in Augsburg. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in defining the technical vision and architectural strategy for Unity’s next-generation hybrid metaverse initiatives. You will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and interoperable platforms that enable seamless integration of virtual worlds with real-world applications and data. • Define, develop, and lead the technical architecture for complex hybrid metaverse experiences and platforms.
• Drive the architectural roadmap, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and future-proof.
• Collaborate closely with product management, engineering, and design teams to translate vision into robust technical specifications and implementations.
• Oversee the selection and integration of core technologies, including 3D engines, cloud infrastructure, networking protocols, and data management systems.
• Champion best practices for software development, architectural patterns, and quality assurance within the team.
• Mentor and guide a team of talented architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, blockchain, and spatial computing for their application in metaverse development.
• Ensure high performance, stability, and optimal user experience across all metaverse initiatives.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Extensive hands-on experience (8+ years) in architecting and developing large-scale, real-time 3D applications or virtual worlds.
• Deep expertise with modern 3D game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and their underlying architectural principles.
• Strong background in distributed systems, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), and scalable backend architectures.
• Proficiency in C#, C++, Python, or other relevant programming languages for complex systems development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead architectural design across multiple teams and complex projects.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of performance optimization, security, and data integrity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Experience with blockchain technologies, NFTs, and decentralized identity solutions within virtual environments.
