Join Nectaflor as a Beekeeping Assistant and become an integral part of our apiary team in Illnau-Effretikon. This hands-on role involves working directly with bee colonies, assisting in all aspects of apiary management and honey production. You will gain valuable experience in sustainable beekeeping practices, contributing to the health of our bees and the quality of our renowned Swiss honey. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, a love for nature, and a desire to learn the art and science of apiculture.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist with routine hive inspections, monitoring bee health and colony development.
• Participate in honey harvesting and extraction processes, ensuring hygiene and quality standards.
• Help identify and manage common bee pests and diseases, applying appropriate treatments under supervision.
• Maintain and clean beekeeping equipment, frames, and apiary sites.
• Assist with swarm management and colony division as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of hive activities, treatments, and production data.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of bee colonies and apiary visitors.
• Perform general apiary maintenance tasks, including vegetation control and site upkeep.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Comfortable working outdoors and with insects, particularly bees (protective gear provided).
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Eagerness to learn about beekeeping and bee biology.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

• Previous experience with beekeeping, even as a hobbyist or volunteer.
• Basic knowledge of bee biology and common apicultural practices.
• Valid Swiss driver's license (Category B).
• Proficiency in German language (written and spoken).
