Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking an innovative and analytical English Speaking Computational Biologist to join our dynamic R&D team in Nürnberg. In this hybrid role, you will leverage your expertise in computational biology, bioinformatics, and data science to analyze complex biological datasets, develop predictive models, and contribute to the discovery and development of novel therapeutics. You will work closely with experimental biologists, chemists, and data scientists, translating complex biological questions into computational solutions and communicating insights effectively.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Analyze large-scale biological datasets, including genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics data.
• Develop and implement computational pipelines and algorithms for data processing, analysis, and interpretation.
• Collaborate with experimental biologists to design experiments and interpret results from a computational perspective.
• Build predictive models to identify potential drug targets, biomarkers, and therapeutic candidates.
• Present findings and insights to cross-functional teams, contributing to strategic decisions in drug discovery.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and AI/ML applied to life sciences.
• Maintain high standards of data integrity, documentation, and reproducibility.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Ph.D. or M.Sc. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biology, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
• Extensive experience with bioinformatics tools and databases (e.g., NCBI, Ensembl, UniProt).
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing next-generation sequencing data (RNA-Seq, WGS, scRNA-Seq).
• Solid understanding of molecular biology, genetics, and biochemistry.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Postdoctoral experience in an academic or industry setting.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
