Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Counsel with expertise in international law to join our dynamic legal department. This role is crucial for ensuring our global operations comply with a complex web of international regulations, treaties, and legal frameworks. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal advice on a broad range of international matters, support cross-border transactions, and manage legal risks associated with our international business activities. Fluency in English is essential for this role, as you will be working with international teams and documentation.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Provide expert legal advice and support on matters pertaining to international law, including cross-border transactions, international trade, financial regulations, and dispute resolution.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of international contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance with relevant legal standards and company policies.
• Monitor developments in international law and advise the business on potential impacts and necessary adjustments to operations and policies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments (e.g., Risk, Compliance, Business Development) to manage legal risks and ensure adherence to international legal obligations.
• Assist in the management of international litigation and arbitration cases, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Develop and deliver training sessions on international legal topics to relevant internal teams.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex international legal issues.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Law degree (J.D., LL.M. or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 4 years of post-qualification experience in international law, preferably within a financial institution, large corporation with global operations, or a reputable law firm.
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal, as the primary working language.
• Profound knowledge of international commercial law, private international law, and/or public international law.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Fluency in German or another major European language.
• Experience with international financial regulations (e.g., Basel III, MiFID II, AML/CFT frameworks).
• Specialization in specific areas of international law such as international banking law, trade law, or investment law.
• Proven track record of successfully handling complex cross-border legal projects.
