Are you passionate about ecology and ready to apply your mapping skills in a practical research environment? Joanneum Research is looking for a motivated Werkstudent (student worker) for our Ecology Mapping team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world environmental projects, analyze ecological data, and develop your GIS expertise. We welcome international applicants – **no German language skills are required** for this position, only strong English proficiency. You will be an integral part of our research group, assisting with various aspects of ecological data processing and mapping.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Assist in the collection, organization, and validation of ecological field data.
• Process and analyze spatial ecological data using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
• Support the creation of high-quality ecological maps and visualizations.
• Contribute to data interpretation and report generation under supervision.
• Maintain accurate records of data sources and methodologies.
• Collaborate with senior researchers and project managers on various environmental studies.
• Conduct literature reviews on specific ecological topics as needed.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Basic understanding of ecological principles and environmental science.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in environmental science, geography, biology, forestry, or a related field.
