Join ABB’s innovative team as an English Speaking Direct Air Capture Engineer in our Genf office. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and deployment of critical climate technologies. You will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and implementing Direct Air Capture systems, helping to accelerate the world’s transition to a sustainable future. We are looking for a passionate engineer with a strong background in process engineering, chemical engineering, or related fields, eager to make a tangible impact on global carbon reduction efforts. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility while fostering collaborative innovation within our state-of-the-art facilities.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Design and develop novel Direct Air Capture (DAC) processes and systems, from concept to pilot scale and industrial deployment.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and techno-economic analyses for various DAC technologies.
• Perform process simulations, modeling, and optimization to enhance system efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and project management to ensure successful project execution.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of DAC prototypes and commercial units.
• Analyze operational data, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement continuous improvement strategies.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in DAC technology, carbon capture, and climate engineering.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in process design, development, or optimization, preferably in carbon capture, HVAC, or industrial gas processing.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, gPROMS).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat & mass transfer principles.
• Experience with CAD software for system layout and component design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential for international collaboration.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Direct experience with Direct Air Capture (DAC) technologies or other carbon removal solutions.
• Project management certification or proven experience managing complex engineering projects.
• Familiarity with industrial control systems (DCS, SCADA) and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of circular economy principles and sustainable engineering practices.
• Proficiency in an additional language (e.g., German, French).
