Stellenbeschreibung

We are seeking a talented and motivated English Speaking Petrochemical Process Engineer to join our dynamic team in Eimsbüttel, Hamburg. This hybrid role involves a blend of on-site work at our facilities and remote work flexibility. As a Process Engineer, you will be instrumental in optimizing existing processes, designing new units, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our petrochemical plants. You will apply your engineering expertise to solve complex technical challenges, contribute to process improvements, and support projects from conceptual design through to commissioning. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies within a global leader in the energy sector.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Optimize and troubleshoot existing petrochemical processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Develop and implement process improvements, including debottlenecking, yield optimization, and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Perform process simulations, mass and energy balances, and equipment sizing calculations.
• Participate in HAZOP studies, P&ID reviews, and other safety-related assessments.
• Design new process units and modifications, preparing technical specifications for equipment and systems.
• Monitor process performance, analyze data, and generate reports on key performance indicators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, research & development, and project management.
• Support commissioning and start-up activities for new or modified units.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality standards.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Process Engineer in the petrochemical, oil & gas, or chemical industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and reaction kinetics.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II).
• Experience with P&IDs, PFDs, and process data analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical information.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Experience with process control systems and advanced process control strategies.
• Familiarity with German industrial standards and regulations.
• Project management experience or involvement in large-scale capital projects.
• Proficiency in German is a plus.
• Certification in process safety (e.g., PSM) or Six Sigma.
