Stellenbeschreibung
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Metallurgist to join our dynamic team within the Resources Sector. The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimizing material properties, developing innovative metallurgical processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards for our products. This role requires a strong understanding of ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, materials characterization, and process improvement methodologies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality control, to drive continuous improvement and solve complex technical challenges.
Hauptverantwortlichkeiten
- Conduct comprehensive metallurgical analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Develop, optimize, and implement new or improved metallurgical processes to enhance material performance and production efficiency.
- Perform failure analysis on materials and components, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Contribute to research and development projects related to new alloys, materials, and processing techniques.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, industry specifications, and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical support and expertise to production teams, addressing metallurgical issues and improving operational practices.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, presentations, and documentation of experimental results and findings.
- Collaborate with suppliers and external partners on material selection and development projects.
Erforderliche Fähigkeiten
- Master's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related engineering field.
- Proven experience in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy.
- Strong knowledge of materials characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, XRD, EDS, mechanical testing).
- Proficiency in process optimization and statistical analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Fluency in English and German (written and spoken).
Bevorzugte Qualifikationen
- PhD in Metallurgy or Materials Science.
- Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., Thermo-Calc, Ansys).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous experience in the mining, steel, or heavy industrial sectors.
