Stellenbeschreibung
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nutmeg Tree Assistant to join our specialized horticultural team in Amstetten. This unique role focuses on the care and cultivation of nutmeg trees within our research and development facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining optimal growing conditions, assisting with plant health monitoring, and contributing to experimental projects. The ‚English Welcome‘ aspect of this role highlights our international collaboration and the need for clear communication in English, as you will interact with diverse team members and potentially international visitors or researchers.
Hauptverantwortlichkeiten
- Perform daily care tasks for nutmeg trees, including watering, fertilizing, and pruning.
- Monitor plant health, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or nutritional deficiencies.
- Assist in the preparation and application of organic pest control methods.
- Maintain meticulous records of plant growth, environmental conditions, and experimental data.
- Support senior horticulturists and researchers in various cultivation and research projects.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the greenhouse environment.
- Provide a welcoming presence and assist with basic communication in English for international colleagues or visitors.
Erforderliche Fähigkeiten
- Basic knowledge of horticulture or plant care.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliable and committed work ethic.
- Basic computer skills for data entry.
Bevorzugte Qualifikationen
- Certificate or diploma in horticulture, botany, or a related field.
- Prior experience with tropical plants or greenhouse environments.
- Basic understanding of German language is a plus.
- Experience with sustainable or organic farming practices.
- Valid driver's license.
