Stellenbeschreibung

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a motivated and dedicated Social Work Intern to join our remote team. This is a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about humanitarian work and social welfare to gain hands-on experience supporting our global initiatives from a fully remote setting. As an English-speaking intern, you will contribute to various projects aimed at assisting vulnerable populations and enhancing community resilience. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within a suitable time zone, providing flexibility while making a significant impact.

Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

• Conduct desk research on social welfare practices, community engagement strategies, and humanitarian trends relevant to ICRC operations.
• Assist in the development and preparation of reports, presentations, and communication materials in English.
• Support project coordinators in administrative tasks, data entry, and information management.
• Contribute to the organization of virtual meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
• Participate in team discussions and brainstorming sessions to develop innovative approaches to social work challenges.
• Monitor and summarize relevant news and academic articles on social justice, human rights, and humanitarian aid.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Strong research and analytical abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Demonstrated interest in humanitarian affairs, social work, or international relations

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's program in Social Work, Sociology, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related field
• Previous volunteer experience with a non-profit organization or community group
• Familiarity with remote collaboration tools
• Understanding of the ICRC's mandate and humanitarian principles
