Are you passionate about the great outdoors and eager to share the magic of the Swiss Alps with others? Outdoor Interlaken is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Outdoor Adventure Guide to join our dynamic team in Grindelwald. As an Outdoor Adventure Guide, you will lead guests on various excursions, ensuring their safety, enjoyment, and education about the local environment and activities. This role requires excellent leadership skills, a strong understanding of outdoor safety protocols, and a commitment to delivering world-class adventure experiences. Hauptverantwortlichkeiten

  • Lead and supervise groups on a variety of outdoor adventure activities, including hiking, canyoning, rafting, and climbing, adapting to diverse skill levels and weather conditions.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by strictly adhering to company safety protocols, emergency procedures, and industry best practices.
  • Provide clear and concise instructions, demonstrations, and explanations of equipment use and activity techniques.
  • Share knowledge about the local flora, fauna, geology, and cultural history to enhance the guest experience.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip briefings, equipment checks, and post-trip debriefings.
  • Maintain all adventure equipment in excellent working condition, reporting any damage or need for replacement.
  • Manage group dynamics, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, administering first aid as necessary and coordinating with rescue services when required.
  • Assist with logistical tasks such as transportation, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Continuously develop personal skills and knowledge in outdoor guiding and safety.

Erforderliche Fähigkeiten

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in leading outdoor adventure activities (e.g., hiking, canyoning, rafting, climbing).
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification (wilderness first responder or equivalent preferred).
  • Excellent physical fitness and ability to perform demanding outdoor activities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse groups.
  • Profound knowledge of outdoor safety principles and risk management.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
  • Certification from a recognized outdoor guiding organization (e.g., UIAGM, IRF, ACA).

Bevorzugte Qualifikationen

  • Fluency in German or other additional languages (French, Spanish, Mandarin).
  • Experience operating in the Swiss Alps or similar mountainous environments.
  • Advanced certifications in specific adventure disciplines (e.g., swiftwater rescue, mountaineering instructor).
  • Background in tourism, hospitality, or environmental education.
  • A valid Swiss driving license (category D1 or B) for passenger transport.
